Find American universities

Each university in the United States may have different insurance requirements for visitors. Individuals holding J1 and their dependents on J2 visas (spouses and children under 21 years old) are required to purchase medical insurance that meets the school's requirements. The university must verify that all visiting scholars have medical insurance that meets the school's requirements. For detailed requirements regarding J visa visiting scholar insurance at a particular school, individuals can refer to the health insurance page on the school's website or consult with the staff responsible for visiting exchange activities at the school. Failure to meet the school's insurance requirements may result in the termination of the visiting scholar program prematurely.
